Start your journey through Arborea off right with these helpful tips.

TERA — short for The Exiled Realm of Arborea — may be a difficult game to jump into. it's an expansive MMO, so it has a wide range of deep game play systems to wrap your head round.

The game is now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for the first time after delighting PC players for years. Whether or not you are a veteran returning for action on consoles or a novice seeking to venture into the arena of Arborea, here are some changes you should be aware of.

PS4 vs. PC additions

As we stated, TERA has been available on PC since 2011. People who played the PC version and are returning for the console release will need to revise on some features that will be unique for console version.

Don't worry, there's aim assist

TERA has an action-based combat system, rather than the turn-based or tab-targeting systems in lots of other MMOs. This indicates all combat is real-time, and you will want to aim and land skill shots, avoid incoming assaults, and more.

All of this could be much less irritating to handle with a mouse and keyboard, however that functionality isn't currently available for the PS4 version. Don't worry, though: Bluehole has accomplished a remarkable job adapting those controls for console, such as a simple targeting gadget and aim assist to make sure you are not missing your targets too wildly.

You can completely redesign your controls for every character you play

It can be a little overwhelming to wrap your head round TERA's controls. There are loads of skills, abilities, and items you could use at any given time. While it won't completely alleviate the strain of understanding all of it, TERA on PS4 lets you make over all of your skills, abilities, and consumable items to whichever buttons you need.

A strong foundation to start with is to place all your destructive abilities on the DualShock 4's right-side buttons, whilst your TERA ITEMS utility talents, consumables, and the rest can go to the left. Feel free to test this out to discover your ideal setup.
