I want to do picture uploads. When you upload pictures somewhere, is your motivation to share them with the world, or to share them with particular friends, or to show off your pictures, or something else?
Definitely to show them off. A picture is worth a thousand words. Gives others a glimpse of other places, but also helps the photographer develop his/her skills.
My first motivation was storage space, because last time I moved house I was charged for excess baggage on the plane. I had too many hard copy photos, books and other documents.

I'll think about your Tibet suggestion. Perhaps once I'm ready to expand out of Zhongdian, I should go north to the other Tibetan areas in Sichuan & Yunnan, instead of south.
For certainly international travellers, I would imagine that ways of getting from Kunming to Tibet would be of most interest to them. I would suggest promoting say a tour (train & bus) Kunming-Dali-Lijiang- Zhongdian, staying at the Treehouse of course - then onwards - (probably plane via Chengdu) into Tibet, unless there is a link into Tibet from Zhongdian.
Questions often pop up in travel forums about how to get from Kunming to Lhasa overland. To many, it seems rather complex. Perhaps the Treehouse could be a good stop for adjusting to the mountain altitude ???
ONE OTHER THING: ... I registered on your site, but there doesn't seem to be questions for me to complete or show on my profile page. Basic details (but not year of birth) would suffice, and preferably a chance to upload at least a small personal picture or avatar.
