![]() ![]() Joined: 2005-04-24 Points: 648 | We just got reconnected to power after four full days without power. The reason was that the old town power was being "fixed". Fixing things in China, at least in Yunnan province, seems to involve the following steps: 1) Spend a long time tearing down the old thing, which was usually working just fine. This applies to roads, houses, the sewer system and I guess the power grid as well. Apparently the cute cobblestone streets in Lijiang were re-done 3 or 4 times to get the sewage system right. They're still tearing up the newly built square in Xianggelila aka Zhongdian every so often as well. I've sort of taken on the local attitude: "Oh well." |
